Cedar Grove Cemetery in Norfolk has extensive damage to its entrance gate and repair work that immediately needs to be addressed.
Upon inspection, there are trees growing into the brick piers that need to be cut out to the root and the brick repaired. A large amount of mortar joints have disintegrated causing multiple large stair cracks and broken brick that have occurred. The piers have precast bands going around them that need to be cut out removed and replaced before there is future damage to the walls.
The cost of the renovation is $6,850, and we have started a Go Fund Me to pay for this work and ensure that these historic structures last for years to come.
